PPP - Studio Task Phil - Studio Workshop Analysis

In Today's workshop, we all brought in the 10 images that inspired us and the direction that we wanted to take our practice in. We laid them out on the table in front of us and shared our ideas about why the design is inspirational to us. We then had to, as a group of 6, list as many different categories that each piece of design may fall into. Then from that come up with more sub-catergories...

From this we then chose 10 images from the 60 that we had in front of us. These images was to be design that was the most different from everything else. This would allow us to review in the next task, a much more wider variety of design and format. We had to use this images to find out the answer to the following questions...

Starbucks / Branding:

Who is the client?
Starbucks is the mass producer and they have branded the design so that its aplipicate for as a client for Starbucks.
Who is the intended audience?
There is a mass audience of any different backgrounds, cultures, ages, genders and coffee lovers. The products are mass produced, and the reason is because there is a mass audience. Working professionals, wifi, with books etc, Educated people. 
What is it's function?
Identity purpose and promotional activity, to simplify an instant recognisable brand and recognisable brand identity. To represent the brand in a effective and we'll thought out way. New logo represents the 40th anniversary of Starbucks Logo.
What is the Budget?

The budget gained high advances in previous years. 97MILLION DOLLARS on marketing in 2010 - Digital and Circle.

Who is the Designer/Studio: LIPPIMCOTT works with Starbucks to promote and consult.

A couple months back, the Dutch artist Parra put on a solo show at Arkitip Magazine's gallery Project Space in L.A. The gallery show consisted of site-specific installs, original works, and a collection of new prints by the master of bizarrely endowed bird ladies. Parra's series of thirty single-color screenprints is now available through Arkitip's online store in editions of 20. Each piece is printed on 16" x 20" Neenah Environment text paper, signed and numbered by the artist, and will run you $250, unframed.

Who is the Client?
The Clothing brand Rockwell
Who is the intended audience?
Students, aged 18-25, people who are interested in skating / gigs / art, multi gender.
What is it's function?
Illustration that is designed and screen printed to t-shirt to be sold and promoted.
What is the Budget?
The budget is different based on each sale. Screen prints (bandw) are sold at 250 dollars.
Where is it form?
The designer is Dutch and lives and works in Amsterdam
Who is the Designer/Studio
Independent designer, works for himself, uses exhibitions and clothing to brand his identity and to proton himself.

Who is the client?
The client is 'Harvest' a tea company.
Who is the intended audience?
The product is sold at 20 dollars per pack, so therefore the product will have to be focused around high earners, adults, workers, innotives, educators, enjoyers of fine tea, importers. Posh, upper class people.
What is it's function?
A packaging product and to sell an exclusive independent product. To inspire; looks 'pretty' and draw in posh people?
What is its budget?
High quality stock, high quality print, and high quality production must mean a high cost budget. 
Where is it from?
Harvest Fine Tea is an exclusive tea developed by Norwegian Coffee- and Tea House Crema and Darling Clementine. It's based on very high quality green, black and white tea especially imported and discreetly flavored.
Who is the Designer/studio?
Tony Holand and Ingrid Reigthurg

Who is the client?
Lucas Arts, Poster that re-vamping the star wars series
Who is the intended audience?
American people of all ages, both genders, sic fi lovers, all american family.
What is it's function?
To encourage, promote star wars re-realaes and bring in the new generation of kids to have not sen star wars. To push the american thing. 
What was the Budget?
The budget depends on the print. the layout of the design is focus wether the studio and paid for the prints, other the that there is digital aspects to the designs that feel 
Where is it from?
The design is from the South of England, he then sent the designs for an american re-realse.

The designer is Olly Moss
